The Interreg Med Biodiversity Protection project PANACeA started at the end of 2016 and will be running until 2019.

PANACeA fits in the Interreg MED Priority Axis 3: “Protecting and promoting Mediterranean natural and cultural resources”; specifically contributing “To maintain biodiversity and natural ecosystems through strengthening the management and networking of protected Areas”.

News on the projects activities together with events, findings and networking opportunities towards Mediterranean biodiversity conservation among our 9 collaborating partner projects will be posted here. Our official Kick off Meeting took place in Marseille on 15 and 16 March, 2017, an excellent opportunity to gather the participants in the ACT4LITTER, AMAre, CONFISH, ECOSUSTAIN, FishMPABlue2, MEDSEALITTER, MPA-ADAPT, POSBEMED and WETNET projects.

The Interreg MED programme is a transnational European Cooperation Programme for the Mediterranean area. It is co-financed by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund), an instrument of the EU regional policy and of its new programming period.

The PANACeA Team is led by ETC-UMA, University of Malaga (Spain), Plan Bleu of UNEP/MAP (France), the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe, CPMR (France), UNIMED - Mediterranean Universities Union (Italy), Barcelona Metropolitan Area, acting as MEDCITIES General Secretariat (Spain) and the Regional Environmental Centre - REC (Montenegro).
